We're through being cool
Star Fest. Day 1 complete. I realize I forgot the charger for my camera batteries. I have 2 batteries, but one is already drained after taking pictures of the stayed-up-until-3 a.m. activities. Also, looking at the way everyone is dressed here, I feel like I didn't bring enough black t-shirts. Or enough eye liner. There have already been some brushes with greatness here...I saw Master Bra'tac getting yogurt at the coffee shop late in the evening (I didn't catch the flavor and I didn't ask him to autograph my Starbucks coffee coozie). I also heard that someone knew of someone else who had seen Commander Susan Ivanova, but I am guessing that this sighting doesn't even begin to measure up against my SG-1 yogurt incident. I am sure there will be more of these chance encounters during today and tomorrow, as the Fest gets into full gear. Hopefully I will catch a glimpse of that guy from the Priceline commercials getting ice from the ice machine or something equally as exciting. Stay tuned to this blog, watch for some exclusive Star Fest pics, wait for more star-packed news, and stay enthralled!

My brush with greatness... Claudia drinks skinny halfcaf latte's. Her assitant (I think) goes for the gusto with full caffeine! I was just buying laces, cause I forgot mine, and you can't wear a bodice with out a lace! BTW - Claudia's a Ren Geek! WooHoo!
Great to finally meet Liz, Cheryl, Steve and ...(damn..Afinebrunette what's yer real name again?)a few of the people I've been online with at AOL for the past several years, at the con yesterday. Had no idea there were so many likeminded individuals in that room. We've probably brushed shoulders at past cons over the years.
As for the con guests, I was most impressed with Tony Amendola. Not keeping track of his career I had no idea if he was gonna be a stiff or not. He was engaging, humorous and insightful about his life on screen and stage, and VERY tolerant of a young fan who expected, nay, seemingly demanded, to be hired long distance for an acting part in Stargate, lol! Although it was strange as I walked in a minute after he had started talking that I noticed his uncanny resemblance to comedian George Carlin. As I walked into the ME room I thought they were showing Carlin clips on the big screen to use up time till Tony got onstage or something. He could do a one man stage show -"Tony Amendola is -Carlin Live". (...with special appearance by George Carlin).
Mebbe more later,
Graf
