The Doctor Is In or Is He Out? Only the Fans Will Tell In Time.
Dr. Who is sited in America with the premiere of the longest running sci fi show in BBC history this one seems to have potential to be a great show if American fans of scifi can get used to British humor which I have noticed, sometimes escapes folks in the United States. The Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston shows some great wit when dealing with what he describes as backward humans of earths’ past time line. The BBC series has found wonderful acclaim in the United Kingdom, becoming a cult classic and we will see if it gains a foot hold with fans of the old series. I think I will give it a chance to show its’ colors, let us know here it SCIFIPUNDIT what you think of the show, we wanna hear.

Loved it! Glad they did a good explaination of exactly who The Doctor was. Well, not "exactly"... okay, let's say what the series is about. Starting at the beginning rather than picking up somewhere in the middle, expecting all of us on the other side of the pond to just figure it out.
I like Christopher Eccleston a lot and the production values have gotten better, but I wasn't in love with the plastic people one and wasn't the second one a lot like the restaurant at the end of the Universe? Seemed it to me. And why do they always put the essential emergency switch beyond the dangerous spinning things? Seems a very bad design flaw to me. Hope to finally meet you all at the fest.
I love British humor and I love British sci-fi, always have and always will. That is of course until now. I watched the premier with my good friend Liz. She made a wonderful observation. There is no scarf. Even though I believe only two of the other Doctors had scarves, I’d like to see a scarf or something to set this Doctor apart. As a long time fan of Dr Who, there is something missing. Don’t get me wrong, I am willing to give this series a try. However, I agree with Roger, the plastic people were kinda dumb. I don’t care for the Doctor’s companion either. Now, I will endeavor to remain open minded about this new Dr. Who. After watching a few more episodes, I hope to make up my mind. I didn’t care for STNG either in the first season, so there is hope.
