Harry Potter comes back to theaters in Nov

The newest movie in the Harry Potter series will make its appearance on November 18th in theaters. The Goblet of Fireis the fourth movie in the book series, with hopefully three more movies to follow over the next few years and trust me on this I will be at everyone of them. I have just finished the first one listening to the CDs’ I got for my birthday from my wonderful mother in law It’s a good thing she likes me, considering they aren’t cheap. I played them everywhere I went in my car and loved every moment of the 7 disc set. I already know what I am asking for at Christmas. (Hint, Hint) the next set of CD’s. J.K Rowlings is a wonderful writer, with a great imagination and a knack of holding the readers or in my case the listeners attention and now I see why so many of dove into the world she has created for young and old, or I should say seasoned readers as I am one of them. I think that her writing of these books has brought back young people the lost art of reading and less time in front of the televison. I will honestly say I was completely drawn in to the world she created and hope to soon continue the wonderful journey over years to come.

"Serenity" lands in theaters this coming weekend

The premiere of the long awaited and continuously delayed film Serenity based on the short lived TV series Firefly will happen this Friday Sept 30th. The film is the brainchild of the writer and director Joss Whedon, the creator and director of cult classics, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel". The movie came about after the release of the DVD set of the first and only season. The DVDs sold over an amazing 200,000 copies and the number is expected to grow with the release of the movie. Joss has a great way of mixing science fiction and humor and I think the movie will show this combination works well together. I know a lot of Joss fans will back me up on this statement. Also, I have read around the web and in sci- fi chat rooms Joss is working on the new movie "Wonder Woman" with a cameo by Linda Carter. A small contingent of sci-fi and Firefly fans including me and fellow blogger Cheryl will be in attendance for the 7:45 showing of the film. Hopefully we will do some interviews with the local fan base here in Colorado Springs. If anyone else wants to join us at the theater we will be there early to get the good seats and as I said hopefully talk to some folks about what they think of the series now rerunning on the Sci- Fi channel and of the movie. Who knows- maybe they will do another if this one takes off. Pardon the pun, but it just couldn’t be helped. Stay tuned to SCIFIPUNDIT as we will be reviewing this film.

Voting improves your sex life

As September draws to an end, so does this month blog poll. To date our readers say they enjoy science fiction for the vision of the future, followed by storylines in a distant second. If you haven't voted yet, be sure to get your vote in before Friday. In honor of October being the "spooky" month, next month's poll will undoubtedly be about the paranormal. Thank you for your votes and your continued readership.

Supernatural on the W.B. Pretty Supercool

The WB network didn’t follow the rest of the network pack by staying away from the ever growing and less enjoyed reality shows flooding the television this year as well as past years. This year, the WB launched new shows this season and one of them is an exploration of the unknown in a show called Supernatural. It is about two brothers, Sam, a future law student, hiding from his past and Dean the oldest brother, a con artist, who wants him to remember who they both really are while they search for their father who seems to always be a step ahead of them as he investigates the paranormal and urban legends around the country. I will say I was seriously impressed with the show I like how they mixed humor and horror with a good story. The premiere episode will air again on the 15th of Sept check it out and let us know what you think and don’t forget to send us any stories of personal experiences with the supernatural or paranormal. We would love to hear from folks here, at SCIFIPUNDIT.

Posting again after a few weeks

Just a note to everyone that reads our blog. With some finagling and with the help of my beautiful wife I finally got my new notebook computer from Dell and I am happy to report that I am enjoying the 21st century which is a good thing I suppose, considering I write a sci fi blog . Please be patient with me here while I learn some of its new features. My wife and I are heading out to Lost Burro campground this weekend to relax a bit with some friends, I will try to post while I am there if at all possible. I want to thank all the folks who read our blog and if you have any comments or concerns about it please let us know so we can make it even better. Also a big thanks to my good friend Cheryl for picking up the slack in my absence the last few weeks. Now on to one more thing, Halloween is coming up next month and if any one has a paranormal story or pictures they wish to pass on to us to post we would love to do so. Please send them to SCIFIPUNDIT and we will do our best to post them. More fabulous posts to come soon so stand by and thanks again and don’t forget to vote on this months poll.

Lemonade

Here’s a good example of making lemonade out of the lemons life hands you.

This morning on NPR I heard about this website, www.katrina.com. By sheer coincidence, the owner of this website has the same name as the recent hurricane. Normally this site is used to promote her website design and computer consultation business. However, due to the inordinate amount of hits she has received, she has turned her business website into a wonderful resource page for the victims and other people affected by this horrific natural disaster. If you are looking for a loved one, need help, want to find a charity or want to see satellite views pre and post Katrina, this is the place. For what it’s worth we here at SCIFIPUNDIT give you our highly coveted six alien award. Despite all the negative news reports, there are a few bright spots shining through. And www.katrina.com is one of those bright spots.

We here at SCIFIPUNDIT extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by Hurricane Katrina.
