So this is Blogging? I set up this site for fans, enthusiasts and anyone else interested in Sci-Fi so that they may discuss their hopes, dreams, and wishes for what's to come in the universe of Science Fiction, Paranormal or Fantasy.

This week's three things I am thankful for

  1. The Cylons are just as jacked as the humans.

  2. The Cylons are just as self-righteous as the humans, in fact more.

  3. Gaius is in Six’s subconscious too. (LOVE IT!)

Guest List Builds For This Year's Starfest

New announcement from the people that bring you Starfest here in Colorado. Some great guests are appearing this year April 21st thru the 23rd. George Takei, Gary Jones and Dirk Benedict and now the Beautiful Canadian born model/actress, Tricia Helfer who plays the beautiful humanoid cylon Number 6, is scheduled to appear, barring of course, any conflicts with her shooting schedule. So far the guest lineup is shaping up nicely and I think this convention will go into the record books for the most male attendees ever and I know I will be one of them. I still think there are plenty of guests still to be listed and I will keep our readers advised of what I hear and we hope to see you all there at this years convention.

Extra 30 Minutes of BSG

Ok folks here is some news for ya., Battlestar Galactica is going to air the last episode of the season March 10th . The final episode will run 90 minutes instead of the normal 60 minutes. The producers say this isn’t nearly enough time to tie up all the storylines that have been started this season so I suppose we will need to wait till July I believe. Secondly, for you Xena fans, you will be glad to hear that Lucy Lawless is signed to do 10 episodes of BSG next season. I will post more about the next season when I hear anything.

Rise and Fall...Life and Death

It seems that BSG is full of surprises with the latest episode touching on another hot political issue or should I say a continuing issue in respects to abortion. The President of the colonies, played by Mary McDonnell, has to make a decision on a subject that is close to her heart - whether or not to allow an abortion to occur. Her stance is the right for woman of all the colonies to decide what they wish to do with an unwanted pregnancy. Her moral values strongly conflict with her deep need to keep the population expanding so as not to have the human race become extinct in less than 18 years. The issue of command is another topic brought to light. Admiral Adama places an engineering officer in command of the Pegasus. His lack of experience as a command officer becomes easily apparent when a training mission goes wrong. This segment of the episode shows how not all are meant to lead. Producers Ron Moore and David Eick use their political science backgrounds to give folks a view from both sides of an issue, be it on an issue of war, education or in this case abortion. Both of these men seem to know what is important to fans and non fans alike that watch the show. We as fans may or not always agree with the subject matter of a particular episode, we may or may not like the outcome that the writers decide upon, but I think we are in agreement for the most part that the show gives us a chance to see both sides of a coin.

Let's make some noise!

Two of my favorite Sci-Fi actors, Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff, may soon be starring together in the sequel to White Noise. Mr. Fillion has signed and Ms. Sackhoff is currently in negotiations. Read more about it here.

Logan's Rerun?

Yet another remake? So it would seem. Batman Returns’ director, Bryan Singer, is currently drafting a script for a new Logan’s Run movie. I have to admit I'm pretty excited about this news. I loved the original, read the book and yes I have the movie on DVD. You can read more about it here.

An Open Invitation

It has come to my attention I have left out several people on this month's polls. Sorry, folks. I was trying to get a wide cross section but alas some key “hotties” were inadvertently omitted. I would like to encourage anyone and everyone that has an alternate preference to please let me know by leaving a comment or emailing me at scifipundit@yahoo.com. I will be sure and include these results in the final totals.

Tonight's three things I am thankful for

  1. Ellen believes in enforcing a dress code

  2. Ellen never puts down her drink. (Is she drinking a warp core breach?)

  3. Ellen lives on to enforce the dress code and have more drinks yet another day.

And the Borg received one vote via email.

Three more things I am thankful for

1. Starbuck is not a man.
2. Starbuck is not Dirk Benedict.
3. Starbuck likes hot men but probably not Dirk Benedict.

Sequels, they are a-comin'

Currently in the works are two movie sequels. The first is Prince Caspian, the second installment of The Chronicles of Narnia. The second is the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series called Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. You may read more about these movies here.

I wonder what is going on with the Halo movie...I'll do some research and let you guys know.

02/04/06 UPDATE

I consulted with our resident Harry Potter expert, Alex. He says this is the fifth book of the seven written. Thank you to anonymous to pointing out the error of my ways.

Reader emails

We so appreciate our loyal readers and love it when they share interesting information.

First, our dear friend, Kat, sent an email promoting the high entertainment value of a little known movie Dead and Breakfast. She says she doesn't usually go bonkers over movies, but this one "ya got to see". Kat describes it as a camp horror
/zombie/musical/comedy movie. The musician behind the county to rap score is Brian Vander Ark, along with a few original songs by Zack Selwyn. You may order your copy of Dead and Breakfast here. Thanks, Kat!

Second, Toni, who is always helping us with the blog, also had some news to share. Since this year is the 40th anniversary of Star Trek, there are some new games being "beamed up" later this year. Should be interesting to see what the games will look like on the new Xbox 360. Read more about it here. Thanks, Toni!
